Celebrating Christmas: Spreading Joy, Love, and Inclusion
By Katie Tucker
Christmas is a time of joy, love, and togetherness, where we gather with our loved ones to celebrate the spirit of giving and gratitude. We believe that this festive season is an opportunity to bring the community closer and emphasise the importance of compassion, especially towards those who may not have the luxury of family nearby or who face challenges during this time.
I love everything to do with
Christmas and joining the Pottsville Community Hall has given me such an amazing opportunity to give back to the community.
We recognise the significance of spreading love and cheer during the holiday season. That’s why the Pottsville Community Hall has organised a special Christmas lunch to bring people together, especially those who may be alone or less fortunate. This lunch serves as a reminder that nobody should feel isolated or excluded during Christmas. It is an opportunity for people to connect, share a warm meal, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Coming Together
Our Christmas lunch event also serves as a platform for community engagement. By inviting local businesses, organisations, and individuals to volunteer and donate food and gifts we aim to create a network of support and unity within our community. Through collaboration and collective efforts, we can make a greater impact and extend our reach to those in need. It is a reminder that we are stronger together and that small acts of kindness can make a significant difference in someone’s life.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the following organisations and businesses – Pottsville Public School, St Ambrose Catholic School, Pottsville Bowls Club, Woolworths Cabarita, and Paddock to Porch – for their generous donations towards our Christmas lunch event. Additionally, we invite individuals who are inspired by these acts of kindness to join us in making a positive impact by reaching out to the
Community Hall.
Helping Hands
We’re kindly asking for donations of food items such as salads, BBQ chickens, hams, desserts, bread rolls, and sweets. Additionally, if anyone has gifts they’d like to contribute for both kids and adults, that would be amazing too!
Furthermore, we could use some extra hands in the preparation of the lunch. If you have some time to spare the day before or on the day itself, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Let’s come together to make this Christmas lunch truly special for everyone involved.
If you’re able to help with any of the above, please let us know by emailing kakesbiscuits@mail.com.
Your generosity and support would mean the world to us. Thank you in advance for your kindness and
contribution!
