Get ready to catch their infectious passion for the Tweed region’s hidden gems – think unique food, drinks, and experiences! We’re taking you on a wild ride through the breathtaking Tweed Valley landscapes, where Kiff & Culture’s bespoke experiences will immerse you in beauty, flavours, and culture.
“And you’re telling me that this is your job?”
Michael is visiting from Melbourne with his wife and two teenage children, and is taking in the spectacular sunset over the Tweed Caldera from Tropical Fruit World after a day exploring the Tweed.
“Yes, Michael. I can hardly believe it too.”
I co-founded Kiff & Culture with childhood friend Drew Campbell in 2021. We love showcasing the best local producers through curated single day and multi day experiences in the regions from Brisbane to Byron Bay. Think paddock to plate banquet lunches, hinterland drives, behind the scenes experiences, meeting the producers, juicing sugarcane for cocktail making classes, art galleries, stand up paddle boarding and the new Northern Rivers Rail Trail are just a few of our faves.
And the best bit of all? They’re all here in the Tweed.
I’ve been lucky enough to call this region home for the past few years, having spent many a holiday as a child in the caravan parks from Kingscliff to Pottsville. Introducing people to the places I love through Kiff feels like a bit of a dream come true.
Perfectly located in between the bright lights of the Gold Coast, the ever-growing Byron Bay region and under the shadow of Wollumbin/Mt Warning, it’s hard not to call the Tweed Australia’s best kept secret – but if you’re reading this, it’s likely that you might already know.
From watching the sunrise over the Tweed Caldera from the
Border Ranges, to shopping for
fresh produce at one of the many local farmer’s markets, and spending long lazy afternoons in the sun by Cudgen Creek or Cabarita Beach, the region has something for everyone, whether living in the region or visiting.
The Tweed has always had its hidden gems and local favourites, but it’s impossible to ignore the recent growth of incredible producers of all things food, drink and experiences over the past few years.
You’ve not got to look very far to find some of these treasures, such as Kat Harvey’s locally made cheese at her shop in Murwillumbah, freshly roasted coffee at Uki’s Bastion Lane Espresso and a refreshing schooner of Earth Beer Company’s Avocado-farm-turned-brewery in Cudgen.
In addition to these you’ve got award-winning restaurants, distilleries and experiences such as the stunning Husk Distillery with their famed
Agricole Rum and Ink Gin, Paper Daisy at Halcyon House, Pipit, Tweed River House, Potager, and Bistro Livi – to name just a few! All within a 20-minute drive from the coastline.
Not only are their products some of the best in the country, but the characters and people behind them only add to the region’s community charm.
During almost every experience we host, guests ask me: “What’s your favourite thing to do during a day off?” What I really want to say is “if I can sneak in a surf, round of golf, and a nap before my partner finishes work in the afternoon – I’m pretty stoked!”
The truth is, we’re spoilt for choice. But the best way to experience the beauty of the region is by driving through it. My recommendation? While we have a range of spectacular beaches, a drive through the Tweed Valley is a must.
23 million years ago Wollumbin/Mt Warning erupted and formed this stunning region we call home. The remnants of this eruption have given us a magnificent range of landscapes, rich and fertile soils and dense rainforests with jaw dropping vistas and viewpoints all around the Tweed Valley.
Tweed Valley Way is one of the best ways to take in the scenery. You could take Tweed Coast road down to Mooball, before cruising through the Burringbar range, take a left through Stokers Siding up to Uki for a coffee, head into Murwillumbah for cheese, art, lunch, visit Husk and take in the view points from the coast – whichever way you go you’re in for a treat.
But if you’re looking to have someone else do the planning so you can just sit back and soak it all up, get in touch with us at Kiff & Culture. I’ve had some of my best days in the valley with families, friends groups and corporates looking for an action packed, or a more relaxed day out. It’s often the stories and places you couldn’t find yourself that make for the most memorable trip – and we’ll make sure we come up with an itinerary that works for you and your crowd.
It’s what we do best. We love it, and that’s why we’re pretty sure you will too.
Alex and Drew from Kiff & Culture are passionate about their people and places so much you can’t help but be swept along for the ride. Bespoke experiences connect guests with the region’s best purveyors and artisans from Brisbane to Byron Bay and everywhere in between – with special mention to the Tweed.
